Why link services

Linking lets you access government services in one place. With a myGov account you can get secure messages from linked services in your myGov Inbox and update your contact details with participating linked services.

You cannot create a myGov account in the myGov app. Create it on the myGov website first, then set up the app with the same account.

Linking with myID

If you use myID with myGov, you need at least a Standard identity strength to link Centrelink, Medicare or Child Support to your myGov account. Linking steps for the myGov app are in the app help section.

Common questions

Where do I get a linking code?

myGov says to contact the service you are linking for help with linking, including linking codes. The myGov helpdesk only helps with your myGov account.

Can I link services in the myGov app?

Yes. myGov points app users to its help section for using the app. You must create your myGov account on the website first.
